East Harling 126 - 2 beat Saham Toney A 124 - 10 by 8 wikets in Lucas Fettes Norfolk League Division 3.

Once again Harling lost the toss, not surprisingly Saham elected to bat on a hard dry wicket in the hot sunshine.

Tight bowling from Michael Pill and Andrew Macrow on a wicket that had a tendancy to keep low kept Saham openers Strickland and Palmer in check but couldn't part them. In fact it took until the 28th over before a fine throw from Michael Pill saw Strickland run out for 39, ending an opening partnership of 81. Palmer followed 4 runs later for 28 caught by Steve Fowler off the bowling of Stuart Hilton, the remaining 8 fell for 39 runs in 23 overs justifying the caution shown by their openers.

Stuart Hilton claiming 2 more to finish with 12-1-39-3, Michael Pill mopping up the tail with 3 in 4 balls 10-1-39-4 with Andrew Macrow and Steve Fowler getting 1 each.

After a very enjoyable tea Harling also started cautiously against some tidy bowling from E Huckle and R Palmer, Hilton was bowled by Palmer for 0 in the sixth over with the score on 13, bringing Kevin Seymour in to join Rob Free in a stand of 69 as both began to feel at ease on the wicket. It was somewhat of a surprise when Free was bowled by Rumey for 38. Jon Wyatt 24 not out, in his first appearance of the season, and Seymour 32 not out picked off the remaining runs in an unbroken partnership of 44 to see Harling home by 8 wickets.
Man of the Match - Michael Pill.
